Adult Learn to Play Hockey (5-Week Session)

Ready to try hockey for the first time or build your confidence on the rink? Our Adult Learn to Play Hockey program is the perfect starting point for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment.

This 5-week session is designed specifically for adults with little to no hockey experience. We’ll focus on developing the basic skills needed to get you comfortable and game-ready, including skating, stickhandling, passing, and positioning.

Dates: Saturdays, May 30 – June 27, 2026
Time: 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Cost: $45 for the full 5-week session

Equipment Required - Participants must provide their own equipment

• Skates
• Stick
• Helmet (cage recommended)
• Elbow pads
• Gloves
• Knee/Shin guards

 Who Is This For?

• Brand new players with no experience
• Adults looking to learn the game in a low-pressure setting
• Anyone wanting to build skills before joining a league

2026 Women's Adult Fall League - Fall 2026

Fall Adult Women’s Roller Hockey League
Be part of history and join the inaugural season of the FXBG Hockey Adult Women’s Roller Hockey League!

Season Starts: September 13, 2026 (10 Games- Weekly)
Location: Dixon Park Rink
Game Days: Sunday afternoons
Games consist of three (3) 15-minute periods and typically last about 1 hour.

Skill Level
This league is designed for:
Beginner & Novice players looking to get back into hockey and knock off the rust.

Our goal is to create a fun, welcoming environment continuing to grow women’s roller hockey in Fredericksburg.

To help create balanced teams, there will be a:
Player Evaluation/Scrimmage
Saturday, September 5th (later afternoon/evening time TBD)

Inaugural Women’s League Jerseys

 All players will receive an official FXBG Women’s League jersey.

Register by 7/31 to guarantee your requested jersey size.
We will order extra jerseys, but requested sizes cannot be guaranteed after the deadline.

Required Equipment
All players are required to have:
Helmet
Roller Hockey Skates
Hockey Stick
Gloves
Elbow Pads
Knee/Shin Guards

Girdle pants - Recommended

AAU Membership Required
All players must be registered with AAU Hockey for insurance purposes. Your AAU membership number will be required during registration and validated prior to team assignments. You can register here: https://aausports.org/Join-AAU. Our organization code is W3EYT4.

Learn 2 Skate & Hockey Classes - Spring 2026

We are excited to be in Partnership with the City of Fredericksburg Parks & Rec offering Learn 2 Skate & Play Hockey classes for FREE.

Step 1 Register once for free on our website

Step 2 Come out with your skates and have some fun!

Every Saturday: 

Learn 2 Skate 5:30pm-6pm

Learn 2 Play Hockey 6pm-7pm

Beginning July 11th 2026, class times will change to Saturday mornings, time is TBD.

(We also loan out hockey equipment for free, we are currently limited on skates. Please bring those with you!)

Improve your basic skills and knowledge of the game of roller hockey. Players will learn crossovers, stopping, stick handling, passing the puck, receiving the puck, & shooting along with other skills.

Summer Pick Up Sessions (Weekly) - Summer 2026

Join Our Free Summer Pick-Up Hockey Sessions!

We are thrilled to announce that FXBG Hockey is offering free pick-up hockey sessions this summer! These sessions are open to the public and provide a fantastic opportunity for players of all ages to enjoy the sport in a fun and friendly environment.

What Are Pick-Up Hockey Sessions?

Pick-up hockey are unorganized/unsupervised individual practice sessions that usually turn into informal games where players can come together, form teams on the spot, and play without the structure of a league. It's a great way to stay active, meet new people, and improve your skills.

Age Groups:

Sessions are scheduled by age groups to ensure a fair and enjoyable game for everyone. Check our Calendar to find the session for your age group.

Weekly (Starting 6/8/26 through September 7th, 2026)

Mondays: 18 & Under 7p-8p

Tuesdays: 14 & Under 7p-8p

Wednesdays: 10 & Under 7p-8p

Thursdays:  Adult Woman's 7p-8p

Fridays: Adult 6:30p-7:30p (Exception: Once a month there is Friday Public Skate, Check the Calendar)

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please come prepared with the following equipment:

BYOP (Bring your own puck)

We're excited to offer these pick-up sessions completely free of charge. All you need to do is show up with your gear, puck, and be ready to play!
