What You Need:
Just you (and probably some skates)
How does it work?
If it's your first time, please arrive at least 15 minutes before and head to the gear shed. Let our people know it's your first time, and we'll get you fitted for equipment. Our skate selection is limited, so please get ahold of us ahead of time if you need skates so that we can verify we have the right size. Once you receive the equipment, it's yours to keep. If you decide that hockey isn't for you, please return it so we can continue to issue it to interested players.
What equipment is required?
An HECC-certified helmet, hockey gloves, shin pads, skates, a hockey stick, and a water source. An athletic cup or girdle and elbow pads are strongly recommended.
What's going to happen once we start?
Our progressive curriculum is designed to teach the basics of roller hockey to prepare new players for youth league play in a fun and low-stress environment. Evolutions will focus on stickhandling, shooting, passing, positioning, and small-area games.
What if I'm an adult who wants to learn?
Come on out! We'll take everyone and anyone. All you need is a desire to have some fun. We'll take care of the rest.
Who is teaching the courses?
Most of our instructors are players from our adult house and travel hockey programs. Each instructor has been thoroughly vetted and evaluated before they're allowed to interact with the kids. Occasionally, we will have some of the players from the high school and middle school leagues volunteer to help out also.
