About FXBG Hockey

FXBG Hockey is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to growing roller hockey in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Our mission is simple: make hockey more accessible, affordable, welcoming, and fun for players of all ages and experience levels. Whether someone is stepping onto skates for the first time, joining their first youth team, returning to the game as an adult, or helping build the next generation of players, FXBG Hockey exists to create a place where people can belong, compete, learn, and grow.

We operate out of Dixon Park in partnership with the City of Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Events, and we are proud to continue building a strong relationship with the Washington Capitals and the larger hockey community.

FXBG Hockey offers programs for beginners, youth players, adult players, women, families, and volunteers.

• Adult recreational and competitive leagues

• Pick-up hockey opportunities
• Travel hockey through the Capitals Inline Hockey League
• Community events, clinics, and tournaments

We believe hockey should not be limited by cost, experience, or background. Our programs help new players get started, support experienced players as they continue to improve, and create a strong community around the rink.

Why We Exist

Hockey can be an expensive and difficult sport to enter. Equipment costs, travel, ice time, league fees, and access to facilities can keep many people from ever trying the game.

FXBG Hockey works to break down those barriers through volunteer support, community partnerships, donated equipment, affordable league fees, free beginner programs, and a welcoming culture.

Our goal is not only to build better hockey players. Our goal is to build confidence, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, friendships, and community pride.

Our Impact

FXBG Hockey has grown into one of the area's most active grassroots hockey communities.

Today, our organization serves hundreds of youth and adult players through leagues, classes, pick-ups, and special events. In 2026 alone, more than 100 new participants have been introduced to skating and hockey through our beginner programs.

What started as a small local effort has grown into a year-round hockey community with youth players, adult players, women's players, travel players, coaches, referees, parents, sponsors, and volunteers all helping move the organization forward.

Our long-term vision is to continue growing the game of roller hockey in Fredericksburg and help make Dixon Park a premier community hockey destination. As participation continues to grow, we are focused on expanding programs, improving facilities, strengthening partnerships, supporting volunteers, and creating opportunities for players of every age and skill level.
