WELCOME TO FXBG YOUTH ROLLER HOCKEY

WHAT IS IT? 

FXBG Hockey offers affordable, co-ed youth roller hockey leagues for players in Fredericksburg and the surrounding communities. Our leagues are designed to provide a fun, welcoming, and developmental environment where players of all skill levels can learn, grow, compete, and build a love for the game. 

We currently offer two youth house league seasons each year: 

Spring Season: March – May 

Fall Season: September – November 

Players are divided into age-based divisions (8U, 10U, 12U, 16U, and 18U) to create a fun, and competitive experience. Teams are thoughtfully balanced to promote fair competition and player development. 

Each season includes: 

10 game season (including playoffs)

A custom league jersey to keep 

An end-of-season medal

Our leagues are built to help every player improve, gain confidence, and have fun. 

WHO IS IT FOR? 

Our youth leagues are open to players ages 5–18 of all skill and experience levels — from beginners to experienced players. 

Never played hockey before? No problem. We offer free Learn 2 Play Hockey Classes weekly year round. Build basic skills and join the next youth season. 

Looking for adult hockey opportunities? We also offer adult roller hockey programming for a variety of skill levels. 

WHEN IS IT? 

Youth league games are played on Saturdays beginning at 8:00 AM at Dixon Park. 

Games typically last about one hour 

Each team plays one game per week 

Practices are coordinated between coaches and are typically on a set day held on a weekday evening. 

Schedules are designed to be family-friendly while giving players consistent opportunities to develop skills and enjoy competition. 

WHERE IS IT? 

All youth league games and practices are played at the Dixon Park Roller Hockey Rink in Fredericksburg, Virginia. 

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED? 

Each player will need: 

Skates 

A HECC-approved helmet with a full face shield/cage 

Hockey gloves 

Knee/Shin guards 

Elbow pads 

A hockey stick 

A water bottle or hydration source 

We recommend: 

Athletic cup/girdle 

Mouthguard 

Need equipment? We can help. 

We believe cost should never be a barrier to participation. If your player needs equipment, contact us at hockey@fyrhl.org, and we will help provide the necessary gear at no charge, based on availability. 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? 

Our current youth league registration fee is $120 per season ($110 Early Bird & $140 Late Registration). We also offer volunteer opportunities that may qualify families for meaningful discounts on league fees. 

If cost is a concern, please contact us. We want every child to have the opportunity to play and will do everything we can to help make hockey accessible.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED? 

FXBG Hockey is powered by volunteers, and we are always looking for passionate adults to help grow the game and support our players. 

Whether you have hockey experience or simply want to make a positive impact, there are many ways to get involved: 

Head Coaches – Lead a team and help players develop skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game 

Assistant Coaches – Support practices, game management, and player development 

Team Volunteers – Assist with benches, scorekeeping, communications, and game-day support 

Program Volunteers – Help with events, equipment, fundraising, photography, and community outreach 

No coaching experience? No problem. We welcome both experienced hockey players and adults who simply want to help and learn. We will provide guidance and support to help you succeed. 

Volunteer opportunities may also qualify for discounts on league registration fees.
